I am actually finding my family’s dislike, incomprehension and offence at Hookland slightly comforting. It suggests something about it must be right.

@kateinnes2 I tend to agree that secret handshakes, nods at certain angles and obscure hand gestures feel more Hookland. However, I am personally not averse to the high-five.

@kateinnes2 I am used to four decades of my mother not reading anything I write – book, TV script, poem, ghost-written celebrity biography – but the actual disdain and forceful dislike of Hookland by family members is an entirely new and I think, positive thing.

@guy_whatmore @Rebecca52731232 And I am sorry to be a bit ranty, but the number of my fellow dyslexic writers that have quit Twitter because of the spelling police shame makes me quite sad. Yes, we should have thicker skins and yes, you shouldn‰Ûªt do it.
