Day Four of the #HooklandChristmasTree decoration is when the Haverford UFO gets placed on an upper branch. Hovering on its ribbon, the shiny tin toy flashes with the regular pulse of a red bulb embedded in it. Another mystery to dance with, another icon of the unknowable.

@TheSacredIsle I know fiction troubles some – even when it‰Ûªs more honest than a Tory politician. I know the salt-line blur of Hookland troubles some profoundly, but when you say this is a story and get that reaction, I have to wonder why they struggle with you and not with The Daily Mail.

He was the sort of ghost ponce who‰Ûªd take Green Shield Stamps at a sÌ©ance. The fake parlour phantoms would whisper whatever you wanted as long as the bunce was right. I reckon any real spirits would want him dead for misrepresentation, let alone those he fleeced. – ##DICallaghan
