Those shades of the dead flickering as the slow fade of trauma across time, those shades do not come close to explaining all that we call ghost. – C. Josiffe, 1936 #Ghosts

@SianEsther @CelticMythsPod They want something they can feel inherent power of – land and lore – but for which they will not work, nor put in emotional effort to develop a true relationship with. Swords are pulled from stone not due to genetics, but virtue. There is no virtue in being a racist pisspuffin.

@SianEsther @CelticMythsPod The whole concept of ownership when it comes to folklore is troubling in itself – good stories walk and wander, faeries pack themselves into the bags of the diaspora – but the lazy assumption that it can be owned by mere fact of race … no, just no and never.

@johnreppion @Quina_The_King It’s a poor imitation. All the worst bits of Dahl and none of the good stuff. It’s like a genetic experiment comprised on enough DNA to fool a paternity test, but not enough switched on code to do owt positive.

@johnreppion @Quina_The_King It’s as if someone was attempting to ape the Paddington books and was focused on Mr. Brown’s middle-classness and nothing else. It takes some stupendous getting it wrong to write a book larping as Dahl and end up doing nothing other than reinforcing stereotypes for bullies.
