@AneurinDavid Again, I don’t think evidence base suggests that witchcraft had died out by the C18th. Far from it. Folk magic, ‘malign’ magic et al were ongoing. Do Puritans weaponise it for persecution? Oh yes. Exactly as the Inquisition and other faith bodies had done in previous centuries.
